The New FANTOM™3 Clone Collection
2005/09/02

In the September 2 Issue of Science Magazine (http://www.sciencemag.org/), The FANTOM Consortium together with the Genome Exploration Research Group of the RIKEN Genomic Sciences Center (GSC) at the RIKEN Yokohama Institute, and the Genome Science Laboratory, Discovery and Research Institute at the RIKEN Wako Institute (Genome Network Core Group) have published two milestone articles that will greatly contribute to our understanding on how genetic information is controlled in mammals. These publications provide out of today the most comprehensive description of any mammalian transcriptome along with in detailed information on regulatory elements in control of gene expression. This ground-taking achievement was made possible by the combined application of classical full-length cDNA cloning approaches in combination of innovative new methodologies marking the ends of transcripted regions denoted as CAGE, GIS, and GSC.

Besides the comprehensive datasets made available at RIKEN's and DDBJ's homepages (http://www.ddbj.nig.ac.jp/, http://FANTOM3.gsc.riken.jp/db/, http://www.ddbj.nig.ac.jp/whatsnew/050124-e.html), RIKEN will release to the academic community over 100,000 full-length sequenced cDNA clones from mouse, which will soon be available from DNAFORM as part of our FANTOM™ clone distribution services. This new FANTOM™ 3 Clone Set will comprise about 60,000 cDNAs from the former FANTOM™2 Clone Set (available from DNAFORM since the end of 2002) and additional about 40,000 new clones unique to the FANTOM&trade3 Clone Set.

Please contact us for more information on the new FANTOM™3 Clone Set.
We are here to serve you, and to provide you with the clones you need to drive your research.
